I’m moving to Singapore for studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for 10 months with start in August (2009).

Becuase of this, I am looking for an apartment close to NUS. I am a totally beginner when it comes to apartment hunting in Singapore. Have looked a bit on Gumtree Singapore and some other classifieds web pages but it is hard to get an opinion about the options and price ranges. I would appreciate any help or suggestion you may have. I.e. which districts are close to NUS, is Housing and Development Board (HDB)-apartment anything I should consider, is it the tenants or landlords market and so on.

What I am looking for:

3 or 4 bedrooms apartment to rent for 10 months, start in the end of July or beginning of August until the end of May 2010.

Preferably walking distance to NUS. If it isn’t walking distance it has to be convenient with public transport or possible to bicycle.

The standard should be OK by European means. There is no need for a pool, BBQ-pit, gym or tennis court. Such features would be nice but a low rent is more important.

This blog is all about personal brandning. It’s about branding my own very personal brand and name; Karl Wackerberg. The only way to controll your personal brand is to take controll over it. One part of having controll over your name is about being in top at search engines for search terms like Karl Wackerberg (Given name Surname) and Wackerberg (Surname).

A first step is to set up a blog (check out my Swedish blog) or another website, a second step may be to create a Twitter and a Facebook account, a third step is to create a Google and Linkedin profile. If you keep your blog and Twitter updated, makes your Facebook profile available for public search listings and have some information on your Linkedin profile, it will perhaps be enough for you to get at the top of most search engines.
